Happy New Year!
Hey! I hope you have a Happy New Year celebration planned. I'm in Charleston, SC, at The Renaissance Weekend. This has been a fun few days of listening to brilliant people talk, do seminars, etc. And the food's been good, too.

My sister wanted me to let you know that her brother-in-law, Clint, is out of the hospital and doing well. Thanks for your prayers.

Merry Christmas
I hope you've had a wonderful Christmas. It's 10:24 p.m. where I am. It seems all I've done today is eat, eat and eat again.

This evening, I went up into the hills of Virginia and visited with friends of my brother-in-law, Charlie. He grew up in those hills and his friends are a wonderful African American family. I tasted, for the first time, chitlins. Can't say I'd ever want to taste them again but I love trying food I've never tried before. The matriarch of the family is Beck, short for Rebecca. I loved meeting and visiting with her and all of her family. There were probably 15-20 people crammed into that little house. It was packed with people full of love. I hope everybody felt as loved and accepted this Christmas as I did at Beck's house.

My sister, Melissa, sent an e-mail letting me and others know that her husband's brother, Clint, has been in a very bad automobile accident. She asked that I ask you to pray for him. Here's her e-mail:

My brother-in-law, Clint, was in a major accident Sunday evening... he was hit head-on by a teenager driving 70 miles an hour in a Dodge Stealth. Clint is in the Surgical ICU with no head trauma, thank the Lord, but he has dislocated toes on his left foot, a broken ankle and sternum, two lower bones in his back are also broken, kidneys are bleeding and his lungs are filling up with blood. His left ear was surgically put back on. We are hoping that it will take. They have him on a breathing machine at 80%... his chances are 50/50. Please ask the reMarkables to pray for him.

Love and prayers,
Missy and Charlie Carter

Mary, Did You Know?
Today, I received an e-mail from Don Cason, President of Word Music. He let me know that sheet music for Mary, Did You Know? is available through digital download.

I've had a lot of people ask me if Mary, Did You Know? is available in sheet music. Well, now we know it is...

Here's the e-mail from Don:

Mark,

I don't know if you're aware of this but I have structured a deal with a company, Musicnotes.com, to carry sheet music styled arrangements of top CCM songs.  I thought you'd be pleased to know that Mary, Did You Know? is the top-selling single song on this Web site... and that includes everything they sell, including all the popular, secular Christmas songs.  It's been selling between 100-150 copies EACH DAY since mid-November.  I thought you'd be pleased to know that.

Here's the link:  www.musicnotes.com

Blessings this Christmas season,
Don Cason

Christmas gift idea
Aunt Bertha's got enough perfume to last a couple of lifetimes.

Uncle Harry really doesn't need another nose hair clipper.

You're stumped on what to get them for Christmas - again. And I'll bet your brothers and sisters and cousins are, too...

But you can be the hero this year!

Why not get everybody together and take up a collection to send them on my Senior Trip?

You don't even have to wrap it!

Broke down
We're sitting on the side of the road in Champaign, IL. The bus broke down last night. We've got a mechanic here and it seems that one of the computers has crashed. Buses are run by computers these days. The mechanic said it will take 30 minutes to replace it and over an hour to program it. So, parts have to be programmed these days. Hmmm.

Last night, we did a private concert for The Farm Bureau of Iowa. During the concert, the snow began to fall. It took us seven hours to drive 277 miles before we broke down. I'm supposed to be in Huntsville, AL, tonight with the Gaither's Christmas tour. They're trying to find me a flight from here to Huntsville. Y'all pray!

But, like Jake Hess always said: "Things will get worse, get better or stay just about the same."
