Great question! For me, a Thanksgiving or Christmas meal isn't complete without oven roasted turkey, cornbread dressing and sweet potatoes. My sister has the best recipe for sweet potatoes that I've ever had and there are never enough! I could make a meal off them and the dinner rolls that we have, as well. - Karen Elrod, Memphis, TN

Plenty of shrimp gumbo or curried shrimp. I grew up in New Orleans and Galveston for a while in high school. My father was Captain on several barges for Ingram Barge and Herbert Materials. My taste runs more along these lines, although Mexican comes in pretty strong. And, of course, rosemary, garlic roasted turkey breast. - Barbara Fouquet

For the traditional meal, I always have a rosemary, garlic roasted turkey with cornbread dressing. I like cranberries but a lot of my family do not. Therefore, I fix a cranberry-apple crisp that works. My favorite would be shrimp gumbo or curried shrimp, which is not considered a Thanksgiving food but works for me at Thanksgiving and Christmas. - Barbara Fouquet

I came from a huge family and we would always put
up the outside Christmas decorations before dinner and the inside ones and tree after. Our dinner was at lunch. I am a breakfast/ dinner/supper country girl. I now work every Thanksgiving so the others can take time with family. Therefore, I never have 'dinner'. I long for my momma's dressing... forget stuffing... I love momma's dressing. No one can make momma's dressing.
